Wedding FAQs

If you have a question that isn’t answered here please get in touch to ask me: weddings@lindacollinsmakeup.com

Can you describe your work as a wedding makeup artist?
I specialise in elegant, natural and classic inspired makeup looks. I like to achieve a HD skin finish that photographs beautifully and is long-lasting. My approach to makeup is pretty relaxed and friendly. I will listen to you carefully because I really believe that your makeup should suit your style and personality.
With so many bridal makeup artists out there, what makes you different?
I offer a uniquely bespoke makeup service that is personalised for each bride. The list of products I use from my kit will depend on your skin type, skin tone and your overall style. This will be different for everyone. I understand lighting and photography and never use products that reflect badly in flash, nor will your face be a different shade to your body. I believe that your skin should look like skin.
Do I have to book a trial for bridal makeup?

Of course not. It is recommended but not essential that you have a trial before your wedding day.  At the trial, we will work together to find a makeup look that will suit your style, makes you feel comfortable and works perfectly with your features. I often book clients that are confident in my work and might choose to skip the trial session to save on time usually.

How long will the trial session take?

Your trial will normally take about 1.5 up to 2 hours,  depending on how much chatting we do! I like to give you plenty of time to talk about preferences, look at any pictures you may have and I also take notes. Bridal trials take place at my personal Makeup Studio at my home in Douglas near to Cork City.

How long will my makeup take on the day of my wedding?

For bridal makeup I allow up to 1 hour and for bridesmaids up to 45 minutes. I will discuss timing and recommend a morning schedule for you well in advance of your wedding day.

Do you need a lot of space to work?

Not at all. I bring my own tall makeup chair with me to every wedding. A small table, or even a windowsill are welcome extras but I am able to work entirely out of my own makeup case. The only necessity is a space preferably lit with bright, natural light.

How long will the makeup last on the day of my wedding?

Depending on your skin type, your makeup will last until the early hours of the next day. Occasionally a little powder or lipstick might be needed, however previous clients would state that the makeup stayed perfect until the very end of the day.

What products do you use?
I use a wide variety of products from premium and professional grade makeup brands –

How do I make a booking?

Due to the high demand for my bridal makeup services a €50 booking fee must be paid so that I can save your wedding date in my diary. This amount secures your booking and is later deducted from your final invoice. Please understand that I can’t hold wedding dates without payment of a booking deposit.

Currently accepting bookings for 2017 & 2018*

*Booking in advance is recommended to secure your date. My wedding diary for 2019 will not open until Decmber 2017.
